About this bottle
Many distilleries in Scotland have been "lost" since the 20th century. Through distillery log books and extensive research about grains, water sources, barrel types and distilling methods, Lost Distillery "finds" them. Stratheden, located in Auchtermuchty in Fife, was owned by 3 generations of the Bonthrone family from 1829 - 1926. It was made with an unusual strain of 6-row barley (most modern Scotch is made with 2-row), dried with Orkney peat, and they were known for their "splendid water source" from the Eden river. This recreation of Stratheden Vintage is a blend of malts aged between 15 and 38 years.
