About this bottle

Lunazul Añejo is 100% agave tequila produced at Tierra de Agaves Distillery. The agave, which has a pedigree dating back to 1758, is estate grown right outside of the town of Tequila in Jalisco. The agaves are harvested at seven to nine years and then cooked for a day before being shredded to extract the juices. After being fermented with a yeast unique to Lunazul the añejo is double distilled in small batches then aged for 12 to 18 months in bourbon barrels.

It's cheap, and that's the positive. Beyond that it finishes rough with a very insipid, flaccid, and metallic aftertaste. The wood character comes through as biting and bitter. I don't care for it if you can't tell.

This is my go to tequila. 20 bucks and a darn decent anejo for the price! You get the woody, oaky flavors with a bit of warmth. A solid buy if you are looking for a quality sipper that won't break your bank.

I’ve found Lunazul tequilas to be priced well for mixing, and the añejo is pleasantly smooth and spicy for sipping as well, no need for salt and lime chasers.

Not to much of a nose, but incredibly smooth with hints of agave at first that fades to and oaky finish

Smooth, with a spicy follow on.
