Nose is of apple and toffee/caramel. Pallette is fairly fruity and sweet almost like candy that turns into a Woody finish with a slightly harsh burn that lingers for a little bit. Overall this whisky is pretty good, has a nice balance of sweetness and a little bit of depth. It has grown in me over the course of the tasting as a good holiday whisky
About this bottle
Part of their Seasonal (Säsongswhisky) range, Mackmyra Vinterglöd has matured in Pedro Ximenez sherry casks, American virgin oak and first-fill casks, and most interestingly, in mulled wine casks. Swedish for winter glow, the name is very apt for a spirit that was influenced by this quintessential winter drink. Mackmyra Vinterglöd was originally released in late 2018.

Smell almond, wood, and citrus. There’s a green taste to it; something fresh that I can’t place. There’s a lot happening in this. Cardamom? Like a sweet bell pepper? It’s really different. I like it!
Heavy cinnamon on the nose. Thick and syrupy. Bit of sweetness and woodsy flavors. Solid long lasting burn. Pretty interesting overall.
Sweet, buttery aroma. Nice build and fade in the spice on the backend. An unusual dram that is unlike most others I have tried.
Warm, pine, cardamon, oak, spicy. Very unique flavor. Mild oiliness. Smell is very mild. Complex, refined.
Citrus scent. Very woody, specifically pine. Oily. Nicely complex. Warm, smooth aftertaste.
