Glass: Glencairn, rested 15 minutes. Color: Medium amber. Nose: Rich notes of cocoa and caramel. Palate: Oak, clove, cinnamon. Not as spicy as some. Finish: Long length with medium heat. Splash: No new flavors are revealed. Overall: 7.5/10 - I generally like most Maker’s expressions, but I felt that the Private Selects were overpriced and somewhat underwhelming. This Is essentially what we have here, although rather than lower the price, they made the bottle 50 ml smaller, and seemingly produced a lot of 700 ml bottles using this particular stave combination. Considering that this is essentially a Private Select, it’s one of the better ones, but the finish is less than I’d expect for 111.9 proof.

Nose: Wood, cherry, maple, clove, and a hint of pie crust. Taste: Sweet fruit and maple leading into a dark chocolate with some maple. Building throughout is a tanic wood that makes the sides of your mouth pucker and lingers after as a subtle nutty (character not flavor wise) wood. Experience: Your cleaning old furniture with a sented oil. This Maker's has a sweet and sour vibe for me, the usual finishing series notes show up but the heavy tanic wood isn't as heavy in most releases. I am really enjoying it but could see the finish pitting some off.
Nose is mostly dried fruit, compote, with some roasted pecan and sweet toasted oak, slight brandy note. Pretty cohesive and somewhat muted. Flavor is definitely a jammy sweetness, apricot, some resinous wood, brandy into the medium finish. Overall, very cohesive but muted throughout - no flavors really pop at all. Very good though. T8ke: 7.2
Amazong nose. Lots of jammy orchard fruit. Some burn going down, which is expected for close to 56%. Strong notes of caramel, toffee, and strawberry preserves. Long finish where the oak is more pronounced.
Nose of caramel, vanilla, mocha, pecan pie, oak, char. Lots of char and oak on the palate; no real sweetness despite the pastry smells. Yum. @twostal
Less floral than typical makers. But flavor profile is rich and approachable. Not mind blowing but it does what it does well
