I killed this bottle with a side by side of mmcs 22-01. They both taste pretty similar but the 22 is a 109.7 proof and is a full size bottle. Both have sweet wheat dark fruit nose. 21-04 taste brown sugar and plums with a little ethanol. Has a little chewyness you get with wheat. A little subdued but it was a kill. Numb tangy finish. Rate 4 22-01- taste is way more full and rich with more of the sugared dark fruit flavor. Almost no ethanol. Still nice and chewy with a sweet light numb finish. Rate 4.25 I scored 3 bottles of the 22-01 for $30 a piece and I am happy. I don't need a 120 proof and sometimes those hit to hard. 110 proof is perfect for me. Its funny how good the cs is over the normal Mm. I think I even prefer it over the 46 cs as well.

About this bottle
Originally only available in 375ml sized bottles, Maker's Mark Cask Strength is now packaged and sold in full-sized bottles. As the name suggests, it is batched and bottled at cask strength (108-114 proof). It is minimally filtered to remove wood pieces, but it is not chill-filtered so expect a fuller flavor as well as a higher proof. This cask strength expression is the base for other Maker's Mark Wood Finishing expressions. Batch 21-04 is bottled at 109.4 proof.
