A complex, Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky by Mannochmore Distillery in Speyside, Scotland aged for 14 years in ex-Bourbon casks before being bottled at a full 112.6 proof by Alexander Murray out of California. It has an aromatic birth with notes of toasted grains, autumn fruits & herbs; while a bold life adds notes of tree sap, tobacco, pear, apricot, apple, quince, lemon zest & vanilla; that led to a spicy death of medium length with hints of spicy oak, caramel, nuts, peat & campfire. Strong nose of apple and pear, sweet and fruit forward, middle notes of grain and pepper. I’d happily drink this again if someone else was paying but it’s not very complex for its age and I’m not sure I’d buy it for myself.

Cask strength is really strong. It opens up a bit with water and has vanilla/pear sweetness.
