The Komagatake 2018 is my first whisky of the Mars distillery (I also own the 2019 and 2020 edition). Nose: Candy, banana, Haribo Bears, Fruit. Vanilla. Nice! Palate: Very smooth mouthfeel. More fruit. More Vanilla. Good sweetness. Oak! Finish: Medium long. Good bitterness. This is a nice and fruity dram. I really enjoyed it. Recommended!
Purchased in Hong Kong. limited edition bottled at 48% proof with a post restart Single Malt Komagatake blend aged at least three years in bourbon and American white oak casks. Very pleasant nose with bananas, pear and fruit. These notes follow through in the taste with added vanilla and some light peat on the finish.
Golden yellow!.. good intensity with tropical fruit flavors!.. mango, pineapple, coconut, yaca!.. and an aftertaste of light caramel and tobacco!.. very very good and highly recommended!!.
