Nose: cinnamon, sweet wheat Palette: sweet brown sugar, candied corn and peanut, maple syrup, slight tannins in the finish. Some sweet citrus in there as well
About this bottle
Mary Dowling Whiskey Company (MDWC) makes its debut with two bourbon bottlings including this Toasted Double Oak Barrel Bourbon. Co-founded by Whiskey Maker Kaveh Zamanian, MDWC is named for an influential female distiller making bourbon prior to Prohibition. This Double Oak expression is a Kentucky straight wheated bourbon which was first aged in a heavily-toasted and charred (char #3) American oak barrel. Then it was transferred into a lightly toasted and charred (char#1) American oak barrel to finish its maturation. Available at select US retailers beginning August 2023. (SRP $130)

Hot cinnamon and cherry at first, but a nice caramel brown sugar peanut finish. Adding ice brings out the oak and waters down the finish so best neat
Note: This review is for Mary Dowling Winter Wheat, which is not yet on Distiller.
Firey at start, smooth caramel cinnamon follow
Drank well under its 125 proof.
