Michter’s Distillery is dates back to the early years of the United States in a time when George Washington was leading an army, fighting for independence from Great Britain. originally named Bomberger’s, now Michters distillery primarily produced rye whiskey as it was common in that day. Being founded in Pennsylvania, it is said that George Washington even had stopped in during his travels to secure whiskey for his men. During and there after the prohibition, the distillery changed hands a few times ultimately leading to the founding of Michter’s in the 1950s. The Michter’s distillery as we know it has three locations for its operations. Among their line of products are bourbons, ryes, and of course American whiskey. Michter’s is known as a quality whiskey with good consistency. With careful applications and determination, Michter’s distillery strives to produce some of the best whiskies on the market. The Bourbon Michter's 10 Year Kentucky Straight Bourbon is produced in Bardstown, KY. It is matured for at least 10 long years in charred American White Oak barrels. The finish is long and lingers for a while with some spiciness; notes of toffee, brown sugar, and oakiness are present until the end. Price: $120 DSRP/$250 Secondary

My new name is Bobby Axelrod, from the tv series Billions. And i say this because i have drank the same whiskey that he has had in the show. The mythical Mitchers 10yo. A super rare bourbon whiskey, fairly expensive for any 10yo dram, specially a bourbon. Bottled at 47.2%abv, this one has a black wax protection for the cork. Very fancy stuff if you ask me. On the nose, it starts with BBQ sauce, strawberry syrup, stinky prunes. Much more complex than any other Mitchers. A very particular BBQ spice, pepper, cotton candy. After a second sip, it gave me an aroma of a mixture of all of the above, plus lemons. On the palate, i get a thick strawberry syrup, followed by a spice atomic bomb. On the second sip i got more thickness and more jam. Aftertaste is all about lsyrup and spices. Hay, tobacco. Full spice: salt pepper Overall this is truly worth for Bobby Axelrod's palate, lol. Very rounded, well crafted, elegant. A very good Bourbon that deserves all the prizes it has. 23 points on every criteria, this is a 92 over 100.
Nose - sweet butterscotch, brown sugar, vanilla, cocoa, cinnamon, nutmeg, marked barrel spice, cherry, peanut, mild to moderate ethanol burn. Taste - butterscotch, pepper, sweet cherry, vanilla, apple, spicy barrel char, brown sugar, cinnamon, allspice, cocoa, moderate alcohol bite, finishing fairly quickly with pepper, cherry, and barrel spice flavors. A solid sipper, but unfortunately overpriced. This has all the classic bourbon flavors, but it’s a bit thin and has an underwhelming finish. I wanted to give this a 4+ and feel the nose and palate in isolation deserve it, but I think the disappointing mouthfeel and finish knock this down just below that.
This would receive a much higher review if it didn't cost 3 times as much as some of my favorites. Very smooth, minimal ethanol burn with in your face cherry/fruit on the front, followed by a strong toasty vanilla finish that really lingers on the best way. 30 seconds later it was still "evolving" on the palate. Overall a solid, viscous, delicious bourbon. However, aside from the finish there's nothing special to it and the price tag brings it down to just mediocre territory.
Nose pour in a highball. Nose has a slight spice with the caramel and vanilla behind it as a base. The taste is a smooth oak. It is sweet with caramel and vanilla coming through after a few sips. There is a bit of baking spice in there. The finish is pretty tame overall with the sweetness coming in. Overall... this is my type of whiskey. Boy is it smooth, very dangerous.
Nose - vanila rum banana - enjoyable here! Taste - Carmel to start, cherry moving to tobacco smoke, almost peaty on finish . Mild proof, can sip neat. Not very sweet With cube : just smears out all flavors, probably not enough proof for ice. Enjoyed this, but the tobacco finish isn’t my normal flavor profile. Good on occasion.
