Nose: lots of caramel and vanilla on the nose. Marshmallow with a thin cherry candied shell. Very faint hint of oak. Later brown sugar. Really great nose Body: medium Palate: white pepper immediately less of the vanilla and caramel from the nose and more of the sugary sweet fruity flavors. Some barrel char smokiness but more candied citrus fruit sweetness. Little bit of oak on the last sip Finish: long but more like a candied orange and not smokey but very long and very nice. And as I sit with it I realize the finish is really long and I really like that. Just let the whiskey hang around for minutes after a sip. Note: a sample from 1010. Very much looking forward to trying this. Tried neat. The finish kind of reminds me of the orange flavor I get on the palate of this years old Fitz 14. This is a very sweet whiskey. I really like this. Almost love it but doesn’t have the smokiness and fullness that I really love. It has a long lasting sweetness that I really like. Delicious. 2023 michigan trip, opened a bottle bought in wisconsin. Its good not great. Im getting loads of cherry and wood. Its not out of a snifter though. I like it but was a little disappointed. I forgot ive already had this. Anyway fun to drink with the boys.

Taste- neat, 2oz. in glen cairn. Nose- Candy corn and toasted marshmallows. There is a bit of caramel and smoke intertwined with a hint of fresh picked strawberry prickliness in the background. The nose is sweet. Palate- Sweet corn, marshmallow, a hint of apricot jam, with a bit of BBQ smokehouse. The taste is sweet and soothing with a hint of ethanol bite. The one flaw is that the mouthfeel may be a tad thin. Finish- medium finish, has some nice chewy butterscotch and the prickly strawberry I got on the nose along with apricot jam is what I am going out on towards the last note. This is a really nice finish. Overall- First, I totally do not get ANY of the notes of our expert reviewer. Perhaps my palate is just not that sophisticated. Michter's toasted releases can be hit or miss. I normally LOVE the toasted rye releases, find the toasted sourmash a bit thin and underproofed, and the bourbon is either spot on, or doughy like raw pizza dough. This year it is spot on! The secondary barrel gives a good bourbon some really nice toasty marshmallow notes. This year's offering is sweeter, but not singular. Nicely done!

Amazing what the toasted barrel did to mellow this out. More caramel and vanilla in the nose, no citrus like the I toasted version, bite is gone, now very smooth, great Viscous body, hints of smoke and root beer on the palette, baking spices move in like ginger and licorice, then the toast and peanut comes in. Finish medium to long finish that is dry and oaky, warm. Excellent barrel finish

Michter’s crushes it again with the toasted barrel. Floral and dark fruits on the nose. First sip was very complex. Complex to the point that by the time the first sip ended I was a bit lost. Let it rest for about 5 minutes and dove back in. Vanilla extract that lingered on the pallets with a sweet spice. Excellent full mouth feel. All the right flavors the rest of the way.

Aroma- smells like tooth paste and vanilla. Almost no nose whatsoever. Taste- sweet marshmallow and cream soda… slight maple. … bit Smokey… smooth… little spice. Overall - Not sure what the hype is about. To be honest, this isn’t all what I expected. Quite underwhelming at its price point. At $80, this drinks closer to a $40 bourbon.

Nose: Peanut butter and peanut brittle. Cherry. Light pepper. Complex and interesting. Taste: smooth, cola, balanced, pepper, deep creamy differing caramels. Finish: round, balanced, smooth, good linger, unsalted peanut. Overall: Very enjoyable. Complex. Refined. Balanced. Superb unique offering.
