Montezuma Aztec Gold

A friend had some of this he bought for margaritas. I figured, Let's give it a review. Nose: I'm dead serious when I say it has hints of vomit and cheap beer. I promise, I'm not making a joke. Tongue: This is not tequila. It has no tequila flavor. I don't know what flavor it has, it's unlike anything I've ever had, and unfortunately, it's not good. It's tolarable in a mixed drink, but straight, forget about it. I honestly can't find anything good to say. Finish: Yeah, I'm finished. Never again. Oily after taste with hits of fermented wheat. (Not sure where that comes from). This is a terrible choice of tequila. I've never heard of it before tonight, and if Indie, and never consume another drop, I'll die happy.

Montezuma Aztec Gold has a very pale gold or tan appearance, with some sort of roiling fuel strands, visible. The alcohol legs are standard and uniform. The aroma is of faint oak and a sort of sweetener. The flavor is of red apple skins and oak. Montezuma Aztec Gold has a light body and a somewhat quick drop-off finish. RJT

Rich charred agave nose, with hints of burnt oak & vinegar, notes of sweet burnt agave, banana, cinnamon, oak, w/ disturbing undertones of bile, a medium silky viscous mouthfeel, with a gentle agave, banana, cinnamon, and bile finish. Use as a mixer or generously add lime and salt.

$18.19 for 1.75 liter. Caramel, agave, sugar, cinnamon, puke, tastes watery. Not very good.
