Wood and spice on the nose, but neither very strong. The palate is simple yet solid. It starts out like you're going to get an alcohol punch but it never materializes. Spice and light oak that fades to a gentle finish. A good sipping bourbon to keep around of you don't want to be distracted by it.
About this bottle
This bourbon was released by Brew Pipeline following the success of Motörhead Röad Crew, an American pale ale released in fall, 2020. Ace if Spades is produced and bottled at Proof Artisan Distillers in Fargo, ND. It is matured four years in charred oak barrels and is a blend of 60% corn, 36% rye and 4% barley. The final blend was approved by surviving original band members Mikkey Dee and Phil Campbell (Lemmy Kilmister passed in 2015). It is bottled at 45% ABV and available as of August, 2021 to be available year round.

It's faaking Motorhead, like the band, it's not complex but definitely gets the job done with attitude. You really can't expect much from a young novelty whiskey, will revisit in a week to see if it opens up. If you want a good heavy metal whiskey, pick up the Slipknot limited edition Iowa.
Started very hot. Had a lingering throat burn for about 15 seconds after just a little time with some ice. Needed a good 15 minutes on ice to cool off. At that point, had little flavor. Really just a bad whiskey in my opinion.
