NBC Single Barrel (Roc Elite 5019)

The nose is vibrant, sweet and creamy, immediately offering up earthy rice rice, bananas, vanilla ice cream, charred oak, leather and the slightest floral notes. Right off the bat, this smells like Barton. Could be wrong, but notes of banana are very much distinct to them in Kentucky. The palate is hot, dry, chewy and fills the mouth with a banana split top with cinnamon. There are definite sweet and hot notes but, at first sip really grabs your attention. Going in for further tastes enhances the merging of cinnamon and banana, as creamy oak emerges as a support they holds it all together. There's also a slight astringency that serves as a middle ground between the dominant flavors. This is very flavorful and interesting and I'm sticking with my initial guess as being Barton. The finish is long and slightly astringent with heaping servings of cinnamon, banana and oak remaining in the mouth. Not much changes from the initial sip, it all stays perfectly blended and hangs on just long enough to chew on it.
