Nose: Sweet apples, grapes, a little soft citrus. Fruit salad? Candied ginger, a little floral. Peanut butter - agree with the MoM pb&j note. Cut grass. Palate: fruity, quite a lot of malt too. Slightest bit of smoke maybe. Herbal and a little minty, with honey too. Almost get the rosemary/thyme/sage herb combo, but that might be a stretch. Certainly thyme if any of the three. Creamy. Butterscotch. Almost reminds me of something like a lighter Clynelish at times, or like the guava side of a Springbank. Finish: More of the fruity, herbal stuff. Overall: Nose was so fruity, the little hint of cut grass really came through on the palate. Herbal notes are really nice and ride along with the fruit in a great way. Could see this being a great one for spring - light and refreshing, but interesting and well balanced. Might enjoy it at a slightly higher ABV, but 43 is okay.

So, the positive part of this is that it's smooth like silk. But that's it. Everything else about this makes me think it was never designed to be for sipping neat, but rather mixed into a soft drink. First whiff of this is like walking into a florist shop. I get a lot of floral, reminded me of Brenne (French whiskey). If I didn't know better, i would think I'm about to sip cheap cognac. Taste is citrusy. Orange peels and lime zest. I'm not liking the finish at all. Quite bitter, like the white part of lemons. Such a let down. Not sure what the heck to do with this full bottle now, short 2 ounces. Wonder if it's any good removing crayon writing on walls, courtesy of my kindergartener.
An elegant, Japanese blended malt whisky from the Nikka distilleries Yoichi & Miyagikyo. It has a nutty birth of the three Pure Malts, fruits, (peanut butter & jelly on toast; while a rich life adds notes of more fruitiness, buttery & clean with hints of cut herbs, sugar & spice; that led to a balanced death of medium length with notes of soft malt & fruit with a hint of peat, coffee & oil. October 2017 / August 2022
Nose: almond, tangerine, mint, honey and a touch of brine. Palate: barley, anise and walnut. Overall: nose is so-so, palate is good, finish is decent.
Disapointing. Thought i would get something better than the "from the barrel" and it's not. Prefer tje from the barrel release. This one is disapointing
