The nose is similiar to the other american whiskies I’ve tried. Burnt popcorn kernels, little ethonal and some sweetness I can’t quite put my finger on. The palate is dry, with vanilla cream sweetness. It took a couple sips, but finally grew on me. The finish is pretty long, really manageable burn at 131 proof with a lot of oak flavors which makes it the best part of the pour. So I have tried a handful of american whiskies amd i have not been mich of a fan. Old Carter does step it up quite a bit, bit at the end of the day ot just isnt my style. It reminds me of Irish whiskies in some strange way that just doesnt usually agree with me. I can see how a lot of people can enjoy this style of whiskey, but for me it doesn’t give me the same satisfaction as bourbon or rye.

Cream soda, vanilla, lots of dark toasted oak notes. The finish is phenomenal. Lingering oak, vanilla, cream with some nice black pepper notes. Notes of Almond now and again.
