About this bottle

This expression is an homage to the D. Canale & Co. warehouse at Huling Station in Memphis, TN where spirits made by Domenico Canele were housed circa 1866. This high-rye mash bill bourbon is produced as a throwback to that style, and selected as a single barrel pick.

I received this as a gift, and I really didn't know much about it. Having fairly low expectations, I was pleasantly surprised. Just a nice solid bourbon that hits a lot of the marks that you expect for a good sipper. It did have a memorable light cinnamon note that I really enjoyed. Great by itself, but also makes a fine old fashioned.

The first taste brings on a soft, sweet caramel followed by a sweet southern corn; immediately followed by a subtle rye spice. This nice expression is bottled at cask strength but exhibits a smooth quality for its high proof. A well balanced and smooth Memphis bourbon whiskey.

Holy rye sh*t. This Bourbon is amazing! Strong rye notes with the bourbon/corn sweetness and smoothness. Absolutely incredible. Searching for my backup bottle.

Amazing and flavorful front end, but not super impressed with the finish. Just heat going down without much complexity. A decent pour none the less.

Corn on the nose. Potent and lingering spice while tasting. Certainly more potent than the regular huling station, but not necessarily better

First tasting: rye, corn and sweetness, brown sugar. Spicy finish.
