Old Elk Cigar Cut

Good complex bourbon. After opening the smell was pure maple syrup in the bottle. The proof showed more on the nose in the glass, along with the wine finish. Neat the flavor was somewhat dry and could get the wine coming through some fruit and a bit hot. With a cube the port and fruit come through more. Coming back a few later I’m rerating from 3.75 to 3.5. The wine seems to have a more drying and overpowering presence for my liking.

110.6 proof. Finished in port, armagnac, sherry and cognac casks. Aged in charred new white oak and amburana barrels. 51% Corn, 34% Barley, and 15% Rye. Grapes, oak, corn, butter, whipped cream, graham cracker, tobacco, cinnamon, toasted coconut, banana, apple, brown sugar, salted almonds, walnuts, mash, peanut m&m’s, honey, charred lemon, cigar dipped in syrupy cognac,

Bottle Sounded Great and was stoked to get it , but unfortunately it’s actually kinda gross , I’ve given it several chance to maybe open up ar change profiles but there is just something off putting, best way to describe is like a rotten plum taste , maybe a bad batch but for the price and considering indont want to drink it anymore, just a heads up buyer beware!

Unlike any cigar blend I've had — but in a good way. Nutiness, grape flavors dominate the first few sips.

Complex yet balanced for being finished in 4 different barrels. Delayed hot finish.

The armagnac comes through nicely. Very well blended and delicious. 4.45
