About this bottle

This expression is the brainchild of Master Distiller Greg Metze, who combined the brand's high malt Straight Bourbon with 2 sourced Kentucky straight bourbons — one younger and one much older. It is bottled at 114.9 proof.

N: Shaving cream, cut stone, baking spice, earth, cinnamon, cooked caramel and vanilla. P: Hot cinnamon, oak, mineral notes, cooked stone fruit, watered down caramel, bitter tannins, earthy. F: Hot cinnamon, oak, cherry cough syrup, oak. I'm hot and cold on this one. Sometimes I think it's lovely and rich, other times - like tonight, unfortunately - I think it lands hot, young, harsh, and ultimately mediocre. I can't say what causes one or the other. I think it's just not a killer whiskey, but occasionally, based on mood, weather, atmosphere, food pairing, etc, IDK, it just punches above its weight. And I would guess that gives some good reason to look forward to future annual releases. This has good moments, and, being an infinity blend that's managed by a professional distiller/blender, I would hope and expect it to get better. ____________ Please come join an unofficial Distiller community on Discord (now one whole year old!): https://discord.gg/4nfePCdyKM. The nose has promise, Carmel apple, nice spice and oak. Smells sweet and you can almost sense some age. The palette is not as pleasing as the nose, but is still good. It’s a bit hot, but the apple and oak comes out. It finishes really sweet and lingers longer than other reviews suggest. It’s a what I classify as a thinker. It’s got some depth to it, and you pick up the glass for more. I will say I was very excited for this bottle, and hunted it for a while. Idk if it was because I was so excited to try it or what, but it did not live up to the hype I built up for myself. I still really like it, just not what I expected. I get the limited release pricing, but probably more of an 80 dollar bottle

Aroma - red hots, toasted marshmallow is major player here. Really love this marshmallow note. Corn, dark candied fruits, caramel, orange citrus. Really nice Taste- big oak, cinnamon and dark fruits again… creamy vanilla finish. Corn again. Overall - the smell is fantastic but the taste is just slightly above average. At the price point, this is a strong do not recommend for me. It drinks closer to a $70-80 bottle.

Nose: Earthinees and some mineral notes you might get from a certain Tenesse distillery. Strong ethwnal and a light touch of vanilla. Palate: The high malt flavors come in right away, rich honey suckle soft texture, not your typical Kentucky bourbon. Finish: Buttered popcorn like the corn flavors you get from light whiskies. The rye soice is pretty mellow for the 115 proof.

One of the offerings at the cocktail party. I hear it's expensive but I am not impressed. The nose is muted and I notice high rye fragrances that missed the mark. There's freshly mowed grass and a vegetal element but the nose is shy and the body thin. Bitter leads the way on the palate and carries into the finish. I'm not liking this one.

Exceptional, delightful. The blend is spot on, no complaints. Pricey but I would buy again. A touch of cinnamon, coffee, molasses. Finish is pleasant no harshness.
