This limited expression is part of the brand's Cask Finish Series. It consists of its Straight Bourbon made from a mash bill of 51% corn, 34% malted barley, and 15% rye that was initially matured in new, charred American oak. It is then finished in ex-Oloroso sherry casks.

Nose: cherry, malty Palate: cherry, sweet, brown sugar Finish: I thought short at ifrst, but then it comes on strong and lingers (could be my heartburn). Overall: I bought a bunch of these bottles with different finishes and they’ve been okay. A sherry cask finish is usually a no brainer for me, but I’m not sure I’d rush to buy this again.
Bourbon with a sherry flair obvious enough it imports light light sulfur on the nose and an almost sherry-finished lowland Scotch note on the palate that almost translates into smoke with a rye bite. Very easy to drink for the proof. Ethanol is well-hidden in the other flavors for 108 proof.
A good balance of spearmint and molasses that is almost chewy. Finishes smooth with the sherry flavor and a light touch of oak. Solid pour that has a medium to long finish.
Has a sweet, caramel nose with some banana hints. Flavor is hot that tames down with a drop of water. Has the caramel with a quick and hard bitter finish.
A bit of a bite at first sip until it opened up with ice. I expected a smoother finish like with standard Old Elk. Good flavor in the Sherry cask.
Basically a slightly better Noble Oak. Which is already heaven on earth. So imagine tasting God's favorite fruit. This is it's nectar.
