Old Elk Small Batch Sour Mash Reserve (Batch 2)

Little disappointed. I typically enjoy Old Elk products and was pleased to see what i consideerd to be a special release from them , but find myself trying to figure out what expression the master distilller is trying to demonstrate in this bottle . I general i am gettin typical oak vanilla nites and some stone fruits. The proof selected seems to be inconsequential. Aged for 6 years, does not justify the price of $90. While there is no evident faults , I can name a dozen bottles that do this flavor expression for half the price .

The nose is warm, pear and honey suckle. Smells terrific. The taste is a spicy, buttery cinnamon. The finish is spicy as well. Abv is about perfect

Very enjoyable. Batch 1 is what I had though. No current check in for it.

Very robust taste.
