Old Elk Straight Rye Whiskey is made with a mash bill of 95% rye and 5% malted barley. It's aged for 5 years and bottled at 50% ABV using a "slow-cut proofing"--adding Colorado mountain water to bring the bourbon to bottling proof over weeks instead of days.

*** MBS RYE SOCIETY PICK *** Nose - Lots of honeysuckle and light light peanut butter. Very clean smell with loads of herbal and floral sweet notes. Palate - Super rye. The most rye that had ryed. Loads of honey floral and herbal notes, light on the mint heavy on the sweet. Finish - Finish is more of the palate, super consistent, love it
Peach cobbler and rye grains on the nose . Nice peach influence also on the palate with notes of rye and gingerbread . Tiny ice chip added a cream cola note . Medium length finish and a soft Ky hug.
Nose: spearmint, vanilla, some dill Palette: sweet candy upfront, herbal mid but not dilly, great flavor. Some licorice in the finish, very smooth, delicious

Darn good rye. Spice notes are subtle enough for bringing someone new to rye, but classic enough to keep you coming back.
Great rye. Big rye spice on the nose, nice flair all the way though. Short on the finish and no surprises, but on point.
