The nose starts off strong with charred oak, peanut butter, smoke, creamy vanilla and brown sugar. It is quite rich and different than what you are used to usually with wheated bourbons. The palate gives you a big burst of baking spice followed by charred oak, as peanut butter comes in behind. There is a bit of a dryness to it and on further visits, the peanut butter becomes stronger. This is a bold and full whiskey, keeping the flavors simple but strong. Incredibly enjoyable for a nice kick of spice. The finish is long and spicy, with a lingering dry oak that slowly fades along with a bit of a nuttiness.
