So Indiana tried bourbon... It's okay, the corn sweet is replaced with caramel/sugar, the charred barrel color is nice but not much flavor, and corn/malt smoothness with a young oak bite. As a whiskey this is fair, but adding the vanilla and mild spice notes this says I want to be bourbon, but I need more time in a barrel. I think the cost is close to value however and if you like a whiskey burn and sweet flavor, this may be what you seek.
Old Hickory Great American Blended Bourbon Whiskey
About this bottle
If you've ever heard an old timer refer to that bottle of Old Hickory with the tagline "Feels nice inside you," this is a 2014 reboot by the R.S. Lipman Co. of the brand that went out of circulation in the early 80s. "Old Hickory" refers to the nickname of President Andrew Jackson, who graces the label and was known to be a whiskey drinker. This whiskey, made from corn, rye and barley is a blended bourbon, containing a mix of American Bourbon mash bills aged 2 to 7 years in new oak, blended with light corn whiskey aged between 2-7 years in used barrels.

Excellent entry level bourbon. Too easy to drink for someone like me who has drank a lot of bourbon! Lots of vanilla very little barrel funk a touch of leather and raisin and just a touch of rye bite at the end.
This is a tricky one. Nose is not overpowering but the flavor is there. Just as you think it's going to hit you hard it mellows out to some nice, possable, vanilla and oak flavers.
Sweet, too upfront with vanilla for me. Nice looking packaging. Probably best used for cocktails.
Butterscotch. Strong butterscotch. Excellent dessert Bourbon Whiskey. Short sweet finish
A little hot (needs ice) ... not getting the vanilla until the ice was added...
