Omar Single Malt Whisky Bourbon Cask

A balanced, Taiwanese Single Malt Whisky by the Nantou Distillery in Nantou, Taiwan made using Scottish barley & aged in an ex-Bourbon cask sourced directly from Kentucky. It has a spicy birth with notes of citrus zest, creamy toffee & a hint of cinnamon crumble; while a rich life adds notes of toffee, milk chocolate, vanilla, tobacco & bananas foster; that led to a tropical death with notes of honey granola & dried tropical fruits. Flaviar advent calendar day #19 Nose: creamy vanilla, toffee, citrus zest, honey. Hints of cinnamon and light chocolate. Mildly sweet caramel. Just the slightest hint of cereal Palate: zesty, orange, creamy sweet vanilla. Definitely a dessery whisky. Honeyed malt, some peppery spice. Light oak toast. A very slight chocolate note. Sweet yet bright and lively. Finish: candied sweetness fades into a warm pleasant oak with a mild spice

This whiskey reminds of a glencairn glass of candy for adults. Sweet smells of butterscotch, Werthers hard candy but then it shifts. The scents began to feel like a Rum. Warm tropical notes, mixed in with lemon zest, banana, peppery spice. The taste is gentle and subtle with heat from the cinnamon that pleasantly lingers. A good solid whiskey that would be beginner friendly.

Omar Single Malt Whisky - Bourbon Cask (46%) 향 : 일반 레몬은 아니고, 위스키에서 나는 레몬 타르트나 빵(커스터드) 느낌이 지배적입니다. 들이마시는 잔 속의 향에서 바나나가 훅 느껴집니다. 맛 : 향과는 전혀 다르게 곡물맛이 무겁게 느껴집니다. 3일정도 지나서 눅눅한 초콜릿 쿠키가 있습니다. 약간(아주 살짝) 아세톤 느낌의 바닐라와 하루한줌의 견과류와 건과일이 느껴집니다. 피니쉬 : 꿀향은 밀납류 쪽에 가깝고, 잔잔한 곡물이 남습니다. 피니쉬는 게눈 감추듯이 사라집니다 #대만 위스키는 역시 새로움! #허니, 너티로 홀짝 홀짝 마시기 좋아요

As per the prior review. Buttery, shortbread like sweetness, vanilla, bubblegum, mild spiciness, light oak. A nice drop but not that interesting or unique. Was expecting a Taiwanese twist. Kavalan wins the battle of the Taiwanese distilleries so far.
