For its bottlings, Opthimus uses sourced rum from distilleries in Panama, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Dominican Republic. This selection is aged for up to 25 years in American and French oak casks. It is bottled at an ABV of 38%.

Nov 2019. Clear deep garnet. Aromatic warm sweet syrup, longan honey, figs, sweeten roasted prune, sweeten dried plum, and old furniture in the bouquet. Dry, medium body with creamy dark syrup, sweeten dried fruit, longan honey, xo brandy, old wood bark and solela oloroso salty in the after taste. Awesome balance and smooth finish.
I'm new, but this may be over aged for me. There's a lot of wood characteristics that are bringing out sulfur notes. A bit off putting.
