A complex, cordial from Greece crafted with a selection of Mediterranean botanicals, including aniseed, fennel, coriander, and the rare mastic resin from Chios island. The botanicals are distilled in small, traditional copper stills & aged in wooden barrels for a minimum of 20 months before being bottled at 40% ABV. It has a delicate birth with hints of wood, resin, herbs & spices; while a rich life adds notes of licorice & mastic resin; that led to a bittersweet death of medium length with a hint of oak.

Floral and anise nose, clear in the glass with coating legs. In the mouth, viscous but not overly sweet. Strong anise and herbal flavors that shine through, with a little pepper and heat in the tail. Finish is more the same, with a light sour grapes aftertaste. Add ice or water, and it louches nicely (becomes cloudy milky white), and the flavor becomes sweeter (still clearly anise) with less bite. Have been drinking this since the 1970s, off and on. Gotta love anise to appreciate this.
Youve gotta really like licorice to get down with this.
Like absinthe or grappa?
