This expression from Havana Club is named for an 1815 treaty between France and Spain when trade ships carried wine casks between the countries and Cuba, where empty casks would be sent back with rum. This dark rum is matured in traditional oak and finished in French Sauternes casks.

Lightly spicy with a strong honey and bits of cinnamon coating the palate, transitioning smoothly on subtle notes of wood and maple for a lengthy and rich finish. The Sauterne Cask finish really deliver on the mouthfeel but overall a bit too sweet
