Compared to younger bottles from the same vintage, I think this is starting to taste over-oaked. There is a lot to like here as far complexity goes, but I feel like I am reaching for it. While there are subtle caramel notes, any sweetness or bright fruity notes are overshadowed by ashy woodiness. Somewhat thinner than I would have liked and the finish does not develop as much as I want. I will revisit at a later time to see if this benefits from being opened and being allowed to sit
