About this bottle

This is the third batch of Valencia, a limited edition bourbon from the brand's Cooper Series. Released annually, this bottling begins with Penelope's Four Grain Bourbon made with a mash bill of 74% corn, 7% rye, 16% wheat and 3% malted barley. The bourbon is then finished in Vino de Naranja casks from Sevilla, Spain for up to 12 months. Bottled at 95 proof, there are 5,000 6-pack cases available nationally beginning August 2024. NOTE NEAT - Very pleasant nose full of candied oranges, vanilla, and caramel. PALATE - Same as the nose. This is not complex at all, but accomplishes what it sets out to do. It gives you candied oranges lightly drizzled in caramel. Nothing is overdone or overpowering and the balance of the two notes is commendable. FINISH - Medium. Caramel stained oak. BUY? - Yes. BUY AGAIN? - Yes, but I think a blind between this and the more readily available Rosé Cask finish would be interesting.
