Finally able to track down a bottle and immediately cracked it open. On the initial pour I didn’t get as much orange as i was expecting. Definitely still has a bit of a young bourbon (corn) finish. Its good, but i think it needs to sit a few weeks and I’ll give it another try. Taste was neat so maybe big cube next time. Also, a side by side with the Parker’s Heritage barrel finished would be interesting.

Best Penelope I’ve had so far and had quite a few. Nose is baking spices, citrus fruit and vanilla Palate is very sweet, light fruity notes and surprisingly very viscous for a Penelope whiskey. Finish isn’t long but very nice One of the better whiskey I’ve had in a while and less than $100. Definitely a buy
Orange Zest forward that I like with a little vanilla orange end but the body just doesn’t do it for me this time around. Zero burn which tracks for the proof. Everytime I try, the rating drops a little. I think this is gonna be my Old Fashioned mixer.
Baking spice and citrus on nose and first taste. Kind of like a cinnamon roll with orange zest on top. Flavor develops with a punch of fresh orange/citrus. Sweet throughout and deserty on the finish. Some nice spice at the end as well
Exceeded expectations! Very sweet on the nose and delivers in the body. A fruit taste with a little orange zest to it. Only thing that could make it better is it seems an oak aftertaste drags on far too long at the end.
Nose: orange zest or citrus, hint of vanilla Taste: spicy and sweet, orange citrus or zest, hint of vanilla and oak, creamy and buttery on the pallet, great viscosity. Reminds me of a old fashion
