Pinhook Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

An elegant, Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey by Castle & Key Distillery crafted with a mash bill of 75% corn, 15% rye & 10% malted barley, aged for a minimum of 4 years in American white oak barrels before being bottled at 49% ABV. It has an aromatic birth with notes of grains, wood, fruits, flowers, nuts, herbs & spices; while a balanced life adds notes of red apple, banana, orange blossom, butterscotch, toasted coconut, almond, walnut & a touch of sassafras; that led to a slightly spicy death of medium length with notes of toasted oak, nutmeg, cinnamon, coffee & a touch of citrus.

Day No. 18 2 days behind review wise, but am drinking these on the proper days. Holiday hustle and bustle. That aside, this is my first from this distillery. My first impressions were spicy apples. Spicy meaning a touch ethanol. There were hints of vanilla and a nutty essence at times. Not bad considering it came off a bit young.

There's a load of fresh apples on the nose with hints of vanilla. The palate brings a lot more fresh, sweet apples. The finish brings about flavors of a spiced banana nut loaf. It's a smooth, rich, sweet dram.

Advent #18. Clear amber body medium legging. Sweet nutty bready fruity vanilla aroma. Sweet toffee bready fruit caramel flavor. Medium full body moderately low warming. 8/4/8/4/17 4.2

Interesting. Nice and smooth with a little briny taste and a hint of peanut. Nice one to sip on…

Very unique flavors. I get honey, white bread, and raw apples.
