Plantation Barbados XO Single Cask

All spice, cloves, hint of cinnamon, but all with sweetness in their aroma. Reminds me of Christmas. If Hallmark made a candle in this aroma, I'd buy it. The missus says it reminds her of toasted coconut. Flavors...hmm. Vanilla and cinnamon. Has that alcohol warmth across one's mouth. I'm getting the slightest hint of gingerbread in the tail end of the retro-hale. Tastes great in mixed drinks but such a spendy treat to dilute. Well, except maybe an eggnog type of drink, perhaps? This would be my choice for December holiday festivities. Ratings based on neat sipping.

Horrible. Plantation rums are usually stellar, however this particular bottle does not smell or taste like rum. I have never tasted anything like it and I’m still at a loss to describe the flavors. I poured the remaining ounce of my glass down the drain. Maybe this has turned or is contaminated with something.

Un XO très standard. J'ai même préféré des Plantation + jeunes et moins prétentieux que cette bouteille-ci. Arômes exotiques d'ananas et mangue, notes de boisé et vanille. Bon mais très standard.

Heady sweetness on the nose. I got something different with each sip. I can’t say I prefer it over their 5 year but I’d drink it again.

Smells like Skoal and Copenhagen. Tastes similar and the flavor lingers forever. This is terrible.

Smells much better than it tastes. Not bad but not what I'd expect from this rum
