An intense, 14-year-old peated single malt Scotch whisky from Islay's Bruichladdich distillery, bottled under the Port Charlotte name. This was distilled in 2002, matured in a single bourbon barrel & bottled in 2016 without any chill-filtration or additional colors. It has an aromatic birth with notes of banana fritters, salted butter, ham, peaty smoke, fresh orange & petrichor; while a bold life adds notes of vanilla cake, dried earth, a subtle touch of ash, slightly tropical with a drop of water unlocking melon and rum-like spice; that led to a long & balanced death with notes of smoky bacon crisps, thyme honey & a hint of hay.
