This sweet nectar of the gods is all you need for a post-work (or pre, no judgment here) cooldown. Drink it neat or throw it on the rocks, but drink it. This stuff blows Maker's Mark outta the water and the distillery is a hidden gem. Support the crap outta them, and get the first Straight Bourbon Whiskey made in Illinois in close to half a century.
Quincy Street Distillery Laughton Bros.
About this bottle
Laughton Bros. is an Illinois straight bourbon whiskey. It is distilled from a mash bill of 83% corn with the rest being made up of barley and rye malt. The whiskey is twice distilled in copper pot stills before aged in new charred oak barrels for 2 years.

I was very excited for the Illinois distilleries to FINALLY put out some straight whiskeys. Very proud of Quincy Street for paving the way with this amazing expression. They're clearly going for a more traditional austere bourbon to contrast everyone else's, and their own, young, barrel forward whiskeys (which I like too).
This is actually the bourbon that made me fall in love with QSD products. The traditional pot-still style of making this bourbon is comparable to Maker's Mark, but I think this bourbon is significantly better than Maker's Mark. I usually drink this neat or with one ice cube.
