This is the same mash(95/5) from MGP as many other notable ryes such as Templetons, Bulliet, Redemption,James Pepper, George Dickell, etc. It is only aged two years but seems lively and fresh testing imo. Nose is typical rye and dill, its upfront and intense. Rye spice carries to palate, not mild this is pumpernickel rye bold in its youth. Light sweetness in the background but dill and rye dominate. Finishes medium, dry with more rye trailing off. Overall this is a bold raw whiskey, its not as refined as some but should rye be. Its a great change of pace from the sweetness of bourbon with its own attributes. Plus I got it on sale for $19 - Its solid 74/100

This is passable as a Rye for me and has very light mint/herbal notes of a 95% MGP Rye product. The young age of 2 years leaves much to be desired and for me I prefer the amped notes that are found in the Dickel version.
Better in larger portions than sipped. Very heavy in its malt notes. A bit of smoke and spice as well. Not the biggest fan and not what I was expecting from a Rye. Masters of Malt American Whiskey Advent Calendar #2
Nose is dill, juicy fruit gum, and no ethanol burn. First sip has more of that juicy fruit. A very slight dill come through. A few low burn. Finish is short but tasty with a slight hint of spice.
Just ok overall. Probably good for a mixed drink but as a sipper is just a little bland. It does have some spice and faint fruit but not much of a finish.
Malty, rye bread up front, followed by sweet floral fruit with just the right amount of peppery spice. Delicious neat, or in cocktails.
