Very medicinal and piercing on the nose. First sip tasted like the nose? Very medicinal notes with a woody/roasted peanut finish. Once ice has started to melt a bit the nose smells a bit more floral and less aggressive. Lacks a lot of sweetness and richness that a lot of bourbons have, it’s got a lingering acidic medical taste that really is not my favorite. The more it melts the more the nose reminds me of Knobb creek/ that family of bourbons. I like knobb creek way better and that bourbon isn’t my fav. Disappointing $40 buy. Towards the very last sip it finally becomes bearable and just tastes like a less good knobb or basil Hayden’s.

For a 104 proof, you feel every bit of it. If aging leads to a smooth mouth feel, this is a newborn. If you like a rough, abrasive whiskey you will enjoy this. I immediately get a sappy kind of taste before I get overwhelmed by alcohol. I definitely get sap on the nose as well. It would sit well around the winter holidays for me with that warmth in the chest. I don’t taste much in terms of sweet flavors like vanilla or caramel, rather the more Woody flavors like pine.

Solid "local" bourbon that is admittedly sourced from Kentucky. Several people compare it to Knob Creek which makes me wonder if it's aged at Beam Suntory. Light, peppery, sweet, and approachable. Just an all around solid bourbon to try in my early whiskey journey. Maybe it won't hold up over time, but I'm enjoying it right now. Vanilla caramel oak on the palate with some pine notes.

Nose is juniper, pine, citrus, grass, and a touch of vanilla. Really smells like gin mixed with a bit of young whiskey, very interesting! Taste is spicey, pine, lemon peel, and malt, with some alcohol heat up front. Finish is more of a classic young bourbon, a bit of pine, and some alcohol heat. Definitely a different whiskey, I am happy I also love gin.

Sweet caramel, no burn, easy on the front end with a little bite at the finish. The color is light but it’s sweet like it’s been aged for 15 years. An easy sipper probably good with an old fashioned

Young MGP juice distilled at Midwest Grain Products in Indiana bottled in PA. There is a reason mthis is the only bourbon bottled in PA worth drinking.
