Peanut brittle, frosting, sawdust nose. Soft mouthfeel, caramel and spices with sweet stone fruit, good lingering finish. That said, i probably overpaid for this. Had to search for the mash bill, age and proof as it’s not in the bottle, which is unusual for a cask strength edition.
About this bottle
Released in April 2023, the Column Still Collection is a collaboration between Rock Town and Bardstown Bourbon Co. This is one of three bourbon bottlings in the collection and each one begins with Arkansas-grown corn and wheat. Using Rock Town's recipe, the bourbon was distilled in March 2020 at BBCo. in Bardstown, Kentucky. After distillation, the distillate was cut to 110 proof and then filled into new charred oak barrels from Kelvin Cooperage and Gibbs Brothers Cooperage. The barrels were then sent back to Rock Town Distillery's warehouse in Little Rock, Arkansas to mature for a minimum of 34 months. The ABV for this cask strength bottling varies, but expect each single barrel to be around ~ 115 proof. Available beginning April 15, 2023 online to 42 states and at select retailers in AR, KY, TN, OK, MD, DE, DC, NJ, MA, IL, GA. (SRP $59.99)

Nose: toffee or burt caramel, vanilla, dried fruit, berries or apricot Taste: sweet and spicey, oaky amd toasty, vanilla, toffee or burt caramel, dried fruit or sweet berries or apricot
Young with bit of spice. Bold flavor but smooth for a young whiskey at 118 proof. Glad i purchased and will be a good cocktail go to.
Dusty charred oak nose. Earthy heat. Pillowy nougat. Dry oak and caramel finish. Medium hug. Vanilla finally arrives second finish.
Its a fairly typical bourbon profile, with nice apricot and salted caarmel with some light dusty barrel character.
