Included in the release was a whiskey parcel made with 51% rye, one with 100% rye and one with a high malt rye mash bill as a finishing component. Aged in a humid warehouse, the barrels from Speyside Cooper were made with #4 char for the staves and #2 for the heads. Bottled at 100 proof.

AnttiRG 3.5

An intense, 5-year-old Blended Rye Whiskey by Thurman Wise & Pepijn Janssens; based on MGP’s historic Whiskey parameters & proprietary yeast that dates back to 1933 when it was still owned by the Seagram’s. A touch of high malt rye mash was added to 2 Rye Whiskey batches that were put to rest in charred oak barrels in 2017 & bottled at 50% ABV. in 2022. It has an aromatic birth with notes of fig jam, apple, chocolate, hints of mint, leather & flowers; while a bold & spicy life adds notes of maple syrup, floral spice, clove, banana & apple; that leads to a long & hot death with notes of mint, saddle leather, chocolate, cinnamon, nutmeg & charred oak. December 2022

Charred wood and stewed fruit on the nose with some savory pepper. The palate is strong and sweet like a tart apple cider. The finish is surprisingly delicious! It’s not as spicy as other rye’s but it is like a black tea… …this rye is like sipping on a strong black tea brewed in hot apple cider. Its cozy and interesting. Pleasant and full of flavours to explore. Yummy!

Unique profile that draws me in more with each sip. Rum scents of peach, jackfruit, dates, banana and baking spices, light mint followed with sweet caramel. With the taste you the familiar Rye goodness with a mouthful of leather, spiced apple, jam, smoky peat but medium heat that slowly fade. Really enjoyed this but best for whiskey fans intrigued by uniqueness

Pretty subtle nose. Vanilla, Caramel, & Charred Oak. Tasting notes are floral, dark berries, vanilla, & a touch of spice. Very mellow initially but that gets punched up as it finishes. Would work well as a mixer for anything that needs a solid rye and could likely stand on its own if you are just looking for a glass on the rocks.

The nose offers a nice blend of oak, caramel, and citrus. The palette changes course slightly, leading with vanilla, followed by warm spices and charcoal. The finish has just a hint of spiciness under wheat and woody notes.
