The Ron Viejo de Caldas line of rums originates in Colombia and is produced by the state-owned Industria Licorera de Caldas. This particular expression is aged for a minimum of eight years in oak casks at high altitude. There are conflicting reports of it being either virgin oak casks or ex-bourbon. The packaging is spartan, but the pricing is fair for what it is.
