Russell's Reserve Single Barrel Select Bourbon Cask Strength (2020 private purchase) An intense, Straight Bourbon Whiskey by the Wild Turkey Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky aged in American oak for more than 9 years. It has an aromatic birth with notes of oak, cinnamon, spice & vanilla; while a rich & creamy life adds notes of more citrus, mint, cinnamon, oak, toffee & honey; that led to a long & warming death with notes of apple pie & oak. [5.24.24] Memorial Day weekend, on the lake, beachhouse in Michigan where rentals are prohibited. This is the life. And kudos to our friends for putting us up for the night. Hands down, best whiskey I've had in at least a year. This is the #22-0011 and I would own the barrel. Easy drinker, sipping like an 80 but riding in the 100s. Smooth, sweet, and a bit fruity on top of all the usual good flavors you'd expect from Russell's line.
