I'm gonna be as straight forward and honest about this as I can be and maybe I shouldn't do this. This bourbon is absolutely amazing. It's better than rr13 batch 1 it's better than batch 2. It might now be as good as the 1998, 2002, and probably better than the 2003. So that said it's likely the 3rd but possibly the 2nd best Russell's product ever made. If Eddie Russell's slapped a 2004 on the label and put it in a tater box the secondary would be over 800 bucks and it would be bourbon of the year almost everywhere you looked. For those who that got a Russell's 13 batch 1 for anything other than retail and got this for under 400 that complain about this I am refraining from saying how I really feel about your juvenile judgment. If this isn't your top 3 RR product you've had you don't like Russell's or Wild Turkey. I should keep my mouth shut honestly because you're making secondary on this somewhat reasonable. Whatever Russell's 13 batch 1 goes for on secondary this should easily fetch double. Its absolutely phenomenal. So much so I'm trading my spare Old Fitz 19 to get more of the single rick because it's better. Only thing better this year is the parkers double barreled. But don't listen to me just stay away the single rick is terrible.
Russell's Reserve Single Rickhouse Camp Nelson C
About this bottle
Russell's Reserve Single Rickhouse is a new, limited edition annual series featuring rare liquid from a different rickhouse (past and present) from the Wild Turkey Distillery where the whiskeys mature. This first release features bourbon barrels which were sourced from the Camp Nelson C Rickhouse. Built in 1946 and decommissioned in 2021, it had seven floors and sat on a hill next to the Kentucky River. Master Distiller Eddie Russell selected barrels aged over 10 years from the center-cut on floors three and four. It is bottled without chill-filtration at a barrel proof of 112.4. Available at select retailers nationwide as of early October 2022.

Nose: caramel, oak, vanilla, chocolate, roasted peanuts, pencil shavings, red berries, orange Body: medium to big, nice slowly building Kentucky hug. Palate: sweetness hits me first. Citrusy. Some caramel and smoke if I really try hard to pull out more flavor. A little spiciness Finish: medium and more caramel spiciness. Note: neat from a glen cairn. It’s light, fruity. A little nutty. I think the nose is really interesting but the palate falls a bit short for me. The citrusy notes are nice. The finish is longish and sweet but it feels like it’s missing some body, some darker notes are not there for me. I was expecting blow the doors off and I got a measured door opening. Good not great.
Special tasting. Sweet and rich nose. A sweet and rich desert. All the warm feelings! Nice coating across the tongue. Smooth going down. This is a 10 to 12 years old bourbon. Only 70 barrels for this batch. If you have to opportunity to buy this get it. Not only because it taste amazing, but also because this whiskey is from a rickhouse that was torn down. I am sad it is NFS in my state.
Nose: kind of loght, some caramel, nuts Palette: sweet anise, caramek, nutty, just keeps changing! So dimentional. Chocolate, some dark fruits, tannins in the finish which is long with some spearmint, more chocolate covered nuts, and lasts forever. So good Compared to the 13 year, the 13 has a more complex nose, and more of a bite. Sweeter, mintier, but not as complex.
Great nose, can smell a ruch, rull body proof, taste is vanilla, medium to light spice, not as much heat as expected feom the proof, better than Russel 13, but not as smooth as single barrel russel 10. Great to have at a restaurant to tey wouldn't do more than $10 over msrp. Srill aolid and rich vanilla bean pour.
Nose: vanilla, caramel, nutty, citrus, black pepper, smokey Palate: cherry and spice forward, cinnamon and clove mixed with oak Finish: the palate isnt sweet, but the sweet notes work back in the finish, vanilla and smoky Super solid pour. 87/100
