Very light rye and spice on the nose, almost non-existent at first. Thin and acrid on the palate before settling into a suddenly pleasant rye. Nothing outstanding but still moderately fun. Not able to pick out the Calvados finish much except for a curious taste in the finish that is subtle but intriguingly unique.

Tough one to really judge. On one hand the calvados finish applied here is really excellent, on the other there is a bit of an astringency that comes along with what seems a bit like a mid grade underlying spirit. I certainly enjoy the bottle but won’t be rushing to find a second.
Normal rye notes of anise and mint lead into some really pleasant herbal tea and maple syrup notes. On the palate, a nice mouthfeel of brown sugar, oak, mint, and black pepper. The calvados finish balances this whiskey. Medium finish
Cinnamon and cloves followed by light vanilla and, of course, apples. Nicely done. The Calvados finish takes the edge off of a youngish rye whiskey, and compliments it instead of stepping all over it.
Apple, anise, baking spice, and cinnamon. High rye spicy that is mellowed dramatically by the calvados finish. If you like rye, this is an excellent whiskey.
Creamy and smooth for a rye
