Saints Alley Port & cognac Casks Batch 1

This is an increible collaboration between Ironroot Republic Distillery and Liquor Hound. They blended the MGP Rye of Liquor Hound with the heriloom corn of Ironroot, and created this amazing product-- finished with a blend of staves from port and cognac casks. It's incredible. It's high-proof and has the spice of rye, with the sweetness of amazing corn, and a nose that clearly shows you this was finished in a port cask. The cognag is lost. You can only buy it at Total Wine unfortunately. 4 stars.

Big and bold is the best way to describe. Needs a small ice cube or touch of water to smooth out the heat. Might buy again, or might not!

Sweet Texas corn on the front end and leans toward heavier on the rye spice as it opens up. Not sure where the port and cognac come in.
