Seelbach's Private Reserve Finished Bourbon, Batch 1

I'm horrible at putting my thoughts into a review but I love this whiskey. Sweet spices on the nose with a strong alcohol at 115.5 proof, but get to the taste and it doesn't come off super strong. A nice kick from the higher proof, but the subtle notes of maple and honey offset it. Honestly, this has become one of my favorite whiskies really quickly but unfortunately it's now sold out! I'm very excited to see Seelbach's future bottles. Keep it up.

Honey, carmelized pear, maple syrup extract, baking spices are apparent on the nose. Pancakes with maple syrup up front on the palate. Appe pie filling follows into cinnamon red hot finish. The younger bourbon has an apparent hotness but the older bourbon add the usual oak notes. This is a for sure desert sipper!

Juniper cedar nose, strong graham cracker and peanuts, maple syrup comes through in the finish. Slight pepper after a few sips
