Sparse and thin for a reposado, but what subtle flavors do exist are mashmallow, natural vanilla bean, and light oak. This clean profile allows the natural agave flavors to come to the forefront. However the same simplicity lets the ethanol dominate the finish. Very easy drinking. This bottle is 1438 which is not additive free like the 1414.
About this bottle
This expression is made from 100% blue Weber agave grown in Jalisco. It is produced by the Vivanco Family in Arandas. The agave is cooked in brick ovens and crushed with a roller mill, fermented via the "Mozart Method" using rum and champagne yeasts. It is twice distilled and rested in heavily charred American oak, then bottled additive-free at 80 proof. NOTE: The brand changed distiller locations from Tequila to the Highlands and the packaging has been updated. Updated versions will have NOM 1414 listed. (SRP $54.99)
