This expression, blended by Nevada HBC Distilling Co, consists of predominantly 4 year-old straight bourbon, with 36% rye in the mash bill, sourced from different floors of various warehouse locations. Not been trying much in the way of new stuff but this looks interesting. The big brother uncut, unfiltered got high marks from me and I have enjoyed other young hot climate bourbons so the bar is set pretty high. Poured one up and let it sit. The nose is enticing albeit simple. It's quite fruity, way less alcohol than expected for a 120 proofer. The palate is agreeable but again simple, very caramel apple like. The neck pour was quite good but this one breaks down on the second pour. It's youth really shows here. It's hot and disjointed. The nose is barely discernable and bitter alcohol shows up on the palate. Gonna set back and revisit in a month.

Insanely viscous. Hung on the glass for a minute before leaving a leg. Spring time honey in color. Nose is spiced fruit cake, orange peel, green apple, a hint of wintergreen. Lots going on there. Hot on the palate almost immediately, and builds with the proof and the cinnamon magnifying the heat. This is nearly an analgesic. Burnt caramel and a dry spicy woodiness in the back end. Leaves thoughts of golden raisins, too. Its got plenty of complexity, but its youth is obvious. Lacks subtlety and nuance. Makes an outstanding old fashioned.

Nose: Rye spice, wintergreen, chewy caramel candy, brown butter. Palate: Cinnamon red hots, honey, rye spice, heat, and caramel candy. Lots of alcohol up front. You can definitely tell this is on the younger side. I enjoy it but it doesn’t seem as well rounded as Uncut Unfiltered.

Nose is a really bright cherry, oak, molasses, a bit medicinal. Taste hits pretty hard with the cherry, then the oak. A bit of caramel molasses too. The finish throws me off a bit- there is like a super tannin bite that hits the back of the throat…at least in the bottle i got.

A solid sipper, but a little reedy, too. The standard UCUF is leagues beyond in depth of flavor and texture, and in all honesty, I kinda prefer the spicy sweetness of the small batch and even straight bourbon over this. Likely will turn to those over buying this guy again.

This is an absolute honey bomb. Nose hints at the young get age, but the palate, mouth feel, and finish are top notch. For a $40 bottle this is an absolute try. Notes of Honey, tart red fruit, vanilla, and hints of oak. Viscosity is 10/10
