A very rough scotch. Spey river has never been a brand I’ve particularly enjoyed. this particular finish has the standard vanilla and malt, along with mild caramel but then is flooded by a sickly sherry. The only solid thing I have to say is the finish is smooth, but as far as flavor there’s not much going on. Out of all the Spey rivers I think this is the most drinkable. i think it’s a decent struggle whisky, but personally I wouldn’t ever buy a bottle

Smell: Sweet Banana Pudding. Raisin. Apricot. Fruity. Signs of the sherry finish show up as well. Taste: Just like the nose. Distinct banana pudding taste. Fruity. So smooth and creamy you would think there was a dab of whip cream in the glass. Taste falls off quickly. Slight burn in the chest in the after taste.
Extremely smooth taste, very drinkable for its ABV. Almost a salty taste along with the oaky flavors that dominate. Very enjoyable and easy to drink.
Not good for the price. Smooth-ish but the overall flavor is not good. If you are expecting macallan sherry-like notes, you will not find it here.
Good scotch for everyday drinking. Easy to drink, not too rough, mixture of peat and sherry. Not best quality, but good for the price.
Not a bad scotch. Like every other cask finish scotch I've had i don't really taste the sherry notes
