About this bottle

Founded by husband-and-wife team Timo and Ashby Marshall, Spirit Works Distillery in Sonoma County is a grain-to-glass producer of spirits such as vodka, gin, sloe gin, and whiskey. Their Straight Wheat Whiskey is distilled from 100% organic red-winter-wheat grown in California's Sacramento Valley. It ages for at least 2 years in 53-gallon, charred, new American oak barrels before being bottled at 45% ABV without chill-filtration. Review from barrels 13-0017/13-0018.

Nose: Butterscotch and tobacco with earthy hints. Palate: Graham cracker and caramelized sugar with delicate notes of sweet tea, roasted walnut, and stone fruit. Finish: Warm spice. Hints of cocoa nib and vanilla.

One of those North Bay Whiskeys that tastes like a fresh bag of grass. They probably rushed the batch because the real estate is so expensive. Stay away.
