Visual: Golden; thin, slow, odd spaced legs. Nosing: instant oak, vanilla, and honey. Flat ginger ale follows. A light fruitiness also follows. Tasting: Young and a bit hot. Lots of pleasant sweetness up front. Medium body with a decently long finish. Lots of oak: too oak forward I think due to the possible virgin American oak. Some caramel; biscuit and vanilla. Reduced Nosing: A lot more cereal and oak comes through. Fresh fruitiness comes through after a good swirl. Reduced Tasting: sweet and tart fruitiness is much more noticeable: almost like a bite out of a fresh, sweet red apple. For a single malt, this dram lacks complexity; however, for a YOUNG whisky, it has more than I thought it would. Solid dram for a Canadian Single Malt; I aim to have this on my shelf at all times.
