About this bottle
Still Waters spent a lot of time working on this blended Canadian Whisky which contains a high percentage of their own single malt and rye whiskies for flavoring. This release coincides with their Stalk & Barrel Red Label. Blue Label is the value whisky of the two blended at 40% alcohol. It also means their 1+11 Blended Canadian Whisky will be retired and hitting the golf course while these two new whiskies fill the roll as their ambassador blends.

Stalk&Barrel Blue, 40% abv. Bottled in Canada. No age, minimum 3 years. This may be the lightest colored whisky I have ever had, at least there may be no color added. Aroma: maple, vanilla, honey, minor oak. Taste: moderate to high vanilla.candy sweetness, a little toasty. I did not get much oak or balance, sweetness dominates. Cost: 31 to 32 bucks plus tax for a 750ml bottle. Overpriced in my opinion. Grade: C
The nose on this whiskey is of overly sweet butterscotch and artificial vanilla extract. The palate adds a hint of pears, peaches and apricots. This whiskey could easily pass for a flavoured liqueur. Found this on clearance at the lcbo so I gave it a shot. Would not buy again. 70/100
Nose: vanilla, acetone, touch of honey. Palate: vanilla, black/white pepper, acetone. Rich and creamy mouth feel with sharp alcohol burn. Finish: short finish with lingering vanilla and acetone.
Expected this to be thin based on the nose, but was suprised by a full nutty vanilla taste that led to a spicy slightly tart finish that was quite delicious overall.
Völlig unspektakulär, ist irgendwie kein typischer Canadian, schmeckt aber auch nicht wie Scotch. Keine Ahnung, ich kann mit diesem Whisky nichts anfangen.
